My Mom and I at my first Purdue evGrand Prix
My name is Cristian Grover. I grew up with my twin sister and older brother in a little neighborhood called Hyde Park in Cincinnati, OH. Growing up, I would love to help my Dad fix things around the house, tear apart old electronics and put them back together; pretty much anything I could get my hands on. Seeking to understand how systems work, my love for solving problems began to grow.
This burning curiosity continues with me to this day as I navigate my beginnings of being a Mechanical Engineer at Purdue. From creating the uprights for Purdue's SAE Formula-E team (PER), to leading a full-scale engineering project in Electric Vehicle Club, these experiences have taught me how I far I can push myself, find different perspectives, and grow my love of learning.
Attending Purdue helped me find a deeply rooted reason for why I love being an engineer: I am capable of leaving a positive impact on our world. As an engineer, I believe people come first. They are my source of inspiration, creativity, and motivation. I love solving problems that meet their needs sustainably, while keeping a pioneering mindset. If I'm not here to improve the world, what's the point?
